CUHED

Our Academy HQ based in the Emergency Medicine Dept., Cork University Hospital

The new Emergency Department at Cork University Hospital opened in 2005. The Department, seeing circa 50,000 patients year, has all the facilities to qualify for Level 1 Trauma Centre status. Our new Clinical Decision Unit has helped with early safe discharge of appropriate patients and has significantly improved patient care. Unfortunately, despite the new build, ward patients continue to experience long delays before being transferred to a ward bed.
